Here's a secret about the Pacific Northwest Women's Comedy Festival -- we actually let a guy perform. I know, it is so daring and cutting edge of us. But Russell Dyball, one half of PotPie Theater, is funny enough to be a woman. Besides, his partner Angie Riley says she's kind of used to having him around, after thirteen years of performing together. He has better wigs too.
Angie and Russell are on our ticket for Friday, November 14th. You'll love their wacky, oddball mix of sketch comedy and improvisational theater. A typical PotPie Theater show veers from the ridiculous to the sublimely more ridiculous. They call themselves, "50% lesbian, 200% funny" and feel they get along so well because they both love women.
And so do we. And men. Which is why, even though it's the Pacific Northwest Women's Comedy Festival, men are welcomed and encouraged to be in the audience. In fact, if you have to nag, wheedle, or Tase your favorite man to get him to come along, he'll be happy you did. Especially if you get him drunk while he's there.
Our schedule is now set and Nov. 14th is the Best of Oregon show, while Nov. 15th is the Best of Washington (with one Best of Oregon woman thrown in for good measure). You'll want to see it all. After all, where else can you get this much comedy in one place for so little money?
